Andy,

The MEAP forums (http://www.manning-sandbox.com/forum.jspa?forumID=329&start=0) are a better place to post queries about the book.

Thanks,

I downloaded the latest version of the MEAMP and things were going well up until a couple of points that I got lost on and you may want to expand on before the final print.

Item 3.4 - I do not have the greatest apache knowledge but I found the explanation about environment variables a little confusing and it didn't match up with the source code for this chapter.

Item 3.6 - I successfully installed phpunit however there weren't great instructions on how you should navigate directories to run the test. By your graphic I guess that you should be in /tests/ directory ? when I ran the command I got "-bash: phpunit: command not found" ? I ran the help command so definately know php unit is installed.

So far finding the PDF very informative but these are 2 items I found a little hard to follow. Hope you can help me with my issues and they may be helpful for further edits.
A little clearer expansion on this may be good before running through all the testing code.

Just downloading the update now as just about to start chapter 3. I have been using eclipse PDT for my early ZF dabblings but have noticed tutorial is in Textmate.

Can you recommend any good ZF themes or helper bundles to get hold of. I use Dreamweaver for my daily hand coding of "plain" PHP at work so used to those colour helpers.

I'd guess that it's a misquote of your June 30th deadline for completion of all code and docs in incubator for 1.6.

Given that all code for 1.6 has to be checked in and ready by then, 4 weeks doesn't seem unrealistic.

Where did the 7/30 date come from? I'm not saying that the release won't be around that time; in fact, I'm not saying at all. :) I'll be announce our release rollout in the next few weeks on fw-general.

Dear Nick,

To bad about the Zend_Db Plugin. Alltough they are in a early stage of development.

I read on the mailinglist that they intended to include it in the upcoming 1.6 release on 30th July.

Anyhow looking forward to the final version of the e-book.

Hi Tom,

The Dojo one is important and Rob is looking at it but it really comes down to timing as it's still somewhat in development.

The features for Zend_Db I think you're referring to are in the Zend Framework: Zend_Db_Table_Plugin Component Proposal by Simon Mundy and Jack Sleight? If so they definitely won't make it in as they are at such an early stage.
